Within the frame of the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community and the German Gymnastics Federation will host the Online Presidency Conference to be held on 24 September 2020.
The online conference titled “Partnerships for Physical activity and sport -Be(come) Active!” will virtually connect national and European stakeholders from the sport, health, and urban planning sectors in an innovative and time sensitive format. Relevant statistical studies show that large parts of the population are physically inactive both in Germany and other member states of the European Union. This has not only negative consequences for the health of the individual but also for the entire economy, and the potential that sport and exercise offers, has remained untapped. Against this background, it seems sensible to increase the activity rate of the population.
The question is how to do this. How can we reach people who are ready to live more actively but are held back by various external circumstances and how can we support them?
We assume that partnerships and networking are essential to reach and motivate the inactive people to be physically active. We would like to discuss with you this statement, highlight success conditions and exchange learning experiences.
Register, join the debates to answer these questions, share your positive experiences and be part of the change to a #BeActive Europe.
